The Mayor’s Community Weekend 2025 is a partnership between the Mayor of London and the National Lottery Community Fund, and takes place over the weekend of Friday 12 to Sunday 14 September.  Over 200 charities and community groups will be delivering events in every London borough throughout the weekend, bringing Londoners together to celebrate our neighbourhoods, our communities and our city.

This weekend would not happen without the hundreds of volunteers who will be giving up their time to support their local organisations over the Mayor’s Community Weekend and help in so many ways to ensure the success of the events.

Volunteering

Many of these events will be facilitated with the help of volunteers, the Mayor’s Community Weekend wouldn’t be possible without them!

What happened last year

Last year, we were lucky enough to spend some time with volunteers at some different Mayor’s Community Weekend events in London. We spoke to loads of volunteers about their experiences and created a few short videos. Check them out! 

This year, we have a team of volunteers collecting volunteer testimonials throughout the weekend… they’ll be chatting to volunteers about their experiences, finding out what they love about volunteering. We’re very excited to see what these volunteers will capture!
